Now there's something that would be great to see!! What a statement that would make. I think you should get your ass in gear and do it. Yeah....the pun was intended. I'm sorry it was lame but I hadta.

Why do I keep typing "kiss my ass" and in preview it shows up as "kiss my ass, but when it prints it changes/edits to "kiss my arm?" this is very strange (makes no sense). But in any event, if it wasn't so hot, and I didn't have work to do (ie: had idle time), I would entertain hitching "my asses (donkeys) to a cart and doing so." I am probably about 1800 miles from Washington DC. "If I could get my asses in gear" I could probably make 25-30 miles a day in a donkey cart, so that would take me 60-72 days. Maybe a good time to start out on this "methane gas, hay burner journey" would be first of September, arriving just before November elections. I might be able to really make my point that we're "mad as hell and aren't going to take high gas prices anymore." Another major concern would be the price of hay to feed my asses, since due to no rain and drought conditions, hay is really on the rise too (has gone up from 1st cutting coastal/horse quality hay at $3.50 to about $5.50 now for 2nd cutting, but doubt there will be any more cutting this year and expect it to get up to about $8.00 like it did a few years ago when we had our last major drought. Maybe I could get doaners to help ... giving me a place to stay the night along the way, get a bite to eat, and donate hay/feed. You know, this is a great day dream!!! ... you never know, I have pulled some strange stunts to get attention for causes I believe in over the years, but this one would definitely be the defining one that a legacy could be built on Happy trails.

It is still doing it ... forum board prevents me from typing A.S.S. (as a word), wonder if putting periods between the letters keeps the board from internallly editing it to say "arm" instead.

Now it changed A.S.S.'es (will type this with periods between letters) ... to "eyees" (this is really something a board that will not allow (changing/monitoring) it to be "eyees" or "arms" instead ... when clicking post.

Lindy you are on the money with getting going on alternate fuels. My business has been so bad that I took a full time job as a purchasing agent for an energy research firm that is working on alternate oil sources, and clean coal technology. Coal to oil has already been done and the technology to make oil from coal is already here, it is more environmentally clean than oil from the ground. However Pelosi and Reid won't permit it to even come to a vote.
I have seen Anwar and the area they want to drill is one 2000 acre tract of over 2,000,000 acres that make up this refuge. I can say that it is not a pristine area that anyone would ever visit on purpose. It is a costal mud flat devoid of vegetation, Hell a rat would have to pack its lunch to cross it.
I don't know why, but someone has a hidden agenda and it is certainly making our nation weaker.
I am still doing Decorative concrete part time but I don't know how long I can do both jobs.

I watched a special on the Discovery channel the other day that was extremely interesting. It's focus was on how Japan is using "wave/ocean current" to generate a very large part of their countries energy. Long flexing, anchored, culverts that float in the ocean, having sort of turbines, generate energy from the ocean current and wave action running through them. This is a very viable form of green energy, but it is NEVER mentioned or discussed by anyone? Wind power and solar energy are great forms of green energy, but they are limited to windy days/nights and hours that the sun shines... while the ocean current/wave power is constant 24 hours a day/365 days a year. We have thousands of miles of coastline in the USA ... I wonder why our country is not using this form of constant green energy to generate power? You just barely see the floating ocen current/wave turbined culverts since they largerst part of them is submerged; doesn't seem to me like anyone could object to this spoiling the view, poluting the atmosphere, etc/etc.

Check out this web site as it has many zero energy devices, they went with a public domain so that no could be bought or have an untimely death do to their inventions. The inventors for some reason have great problems trying to paten their ideas with no explanation to them why. I think there is a great hidden agenda going on in this country to keep the majority under control by the few who control energy costs and wealth in the world. TFG is correct I believe that their purpose is to make our nation weaker and the people powerless. www.panaceauniversity.org/

The rich get richer on the backs of the poor; the poor get poorer and a greater number become homeless; while the middle man (the category most of us fall within) are the only ones "pulling the wagon" with everyone else wanting to jump for the ride at our expense.
I don't understand why our government can't get it's priorities straight ... billions have been wasted going to Mars to dig in the dirt with a little multi-million dollar robot to see if the red planet ever could have sustained life ... we struggle to send our children to college or they are saddled for decades with debt to pay for their college educations; while many other countries provide college for their youth so long as the have the grades and desire to go ... our roads/bridges/infrastructure are crumbling within our boarders while we spend billions rebuilding the oil rich Iraq ... people are dying within our country due to lack of health care and inability to pay for their medications; I don't care what "label" you want to put on it we need universal/affordable health care for all American citizens (just as those on Capital Hill have bestowed upon themselves) ... then to top it all off we are being raped over the coals by the Exxon's/Texaco's/Chevrons/etc. with no end in sight, when there are viable/green alternatives (if we have the science/technology to go to the moon and mars we sure can make vehicles that run on electricity, water like the one in the news in California, or other alternative fuels); I think those that have the engineering know how to do so are being bought off by the powerful oil companies.

I've been shootin' my big mouth off about the money spent on space exploration for years and about Nova Scotia not utilizing hydro electricity as well. Things seem so foolish sometimes it's like a conspiracy for failure. 20 years ago when I first got married I used to get so angry with my father in law for being so cynical. I still had "wide eyed belief" that the good guys would win in the end. Now I'm the cynical one echoing his very statement of,"Big business runs the planet.". It's been a frustrating revelation.

Space, the final frontier (b.s.) ... we don't need to seek out new frontiers in outer space, instead we need to look inward toward saving our own planet from global warming and proactively move toward alternate green safe energy resources to power our vehicles, heat and cool our homes, light up our buildings, etc (other than oil).
Adictions to any substance (drugs, alcohol, smoking, oil/gas, etc.) can be quite harmful, if not deadly ... it is way beyond the time to break free of the addictions that can be stifling; especially when it comes to the importing of oil from countries that are holding us "over a barrel."

It is like an addiction isn't it? It's not necessary. It's expensive. It's harmful. We need a 12 step program outta oil! Both the U.S. and Canada could be self sufficient so all of this political crap is most definately NOT for our benefit.
