5 days = 6 patios All in one condo complex. I wouldn't recommend this. It's killer! And, it's flippin' 90 degrees on May 1st.

All in one place...awesome! ;D That's a sweet project to land. A little pushed on the schedule in the heat but sweet nonetheless.

I was supposed to start a job last Monday on a 2,700 sq ft house but painters are still painting so it got pushed back a week. So because of this i was hoping one or two of my other bids would come through so that I could fill that week. One did, a Motorcycle showroom which I finished today. Started it last sat, and finished today. Big designs in floor and we used dyes. Tomorrow I'm off to the races to cut a 400 sq ft pattern into a border and 24" tile at 45 degree angle. We might stain as well but at a later date.

Woo-hoo! Awesome, Alex! That's great that you are having that much work!
We actually did 3 patios in that condo complex last week, supposed to be 4, but the lady changed her mind on design/color half way through. So, it was basically cancel out what we had done last week and re-do it this week, making 6 for this week. We did one of them last year, which started the whole thing, and we have more scheduled already for July. We will have done 1/4 of the complex before its all said and done. Yep! doing it all in one place is an advantage, but 6 in one week was really pushing it, as they were all Ashlar, hand-highlighted, slate except one.

I'm supposed to be starting that 2,700 sq ft house inside on Wed. they keep moving the date because of painters still in there. I already got deposit and ready to roll. Also I mentioned to owner we could do dyes instead of Acid staining and I am going to do a sample for him tomorrow with the dyes. We used dyes in the Motorcycle showroom and I just loved how they work. I have to look at about 3 places and I have to put out bids for about 3 or 4 others and the phone continues to ring so hopefully it is a sign.

That is great news Alex! So, there's 3 of you that things are lookin' up for...Tenya in Louisiana, Alex in Cali and Dennis in Iowa. To me this kinda proves what we were saying about negative propeganda. I mean, you're all spread out and things are pickin' up for you...so think positive Maybe it will be contagious? ;D

Sounds like the gates sprung open and the race to the roses is on (with work coming in and your phones ringing). Did ya'll watch the Kentucky Derby ... the long shot (Mine that Bird), came out of nowhere, raced up the rail, and won by 6-7 lengths, being the biggest upset in the history! The jockey, Calvin Borel, a Louisiana native, believed in the horse and his ability to win out, in spite of what seemed to be insurmountable 50-1 odds ... so, "keep believing in yourselves, don't listen to the doom/gloom pessimistic media, and you will win out against sometimes challenging odds too!"
Even the trainer of Mind that Bird had a great deal of gumption and spunk, pulling his trailer, hauling this $9,500 horse from New Mexico to Kentucky, with a badly broken foot full of steel pins, then walking the entire length of that muddy track with crutches, behind all the others from the end of the track by the stands ... no one but him believed in this horse (as evidenced, again by the odds). It just goes to so that none of us should ever give up hope, victory may be just a few more steps down the road.
Watching this horse win, against the odds, was Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!

Hey Lindy, now that I read what you mentioned earlier on the phone to me, it paints a picture of how I felt a couple of weeks ago. I was the guy with crutches hopping along in the mud. But just like the horse I'm running along the rail just in case I still need to hang on for dear life. Ha! In other words, I'm not out of the woods yet , but I ain't quittin'!!! So people need to lead, follow, or get the heck out of my way!!!! I'm still taking care of some other personal biz that I need to take care of and once all said and done I believe I will be in a better situation and smarter for it too. If I don't post for a while, a week or two, it's because I've gotten real busy. You can always call me anyhow (760) 535-8007.

I think "odds" are in Alex's favor" to wine the race ... he's got the spirit to do so. We can all gain a lot by believing in ourselves and our ability to run a good race; so saddle up, keep your feet planted firmly in the stirrups, and "go for it."
