Some of us place the fresh stuff and maybe some others are considering it, or just interested. There's lots of stuff to talk about with this too. We only use the 5,000 psi batch. Our cost went up to $138.00 per cubic yard this year. With that and fuel as it is, our price had to go up too. Surprisingly, though, the calls continue to come in for it. We do a package that we call "Place n Pretty" where we place the concrete, then return in 30 days or so to pretty it up. We can still price competitively even with the higher costs. We split the profit between the 2 facets of the job.

The price I told you of $83/ yard + tax was for 3500psi- 4000psi that is what they use here for most flatwork, sidewalks, driveways, garage pads. The market is flooded here with contractors and price is very competative. That is way to hard of work for us but I might have to do some to get the High Def end of it!

That's kinda what we found here...folks wanted what we do, but had no concrete. We didn't really intend to get into placing, but had to meet the demand. I'm not "brand new" to placing, so it wasn't that big of a deal.

I'm gonna hafta get better equipped for this placin' thing. I've had more calls for that this year than ever. None of it plain, though...which is good. By better equipped I mean that I need to buy some of those metal forms. They are great and far more user friendly than the old fashioned wood...especially the flexible ones. Around here they run at about $100.00 per 10' piece, plus stakes...not bad really. I gotta get some.
