Hi guys! I need a new vertical overlay material. I have used Fossilcrete and it's great, but too expensive and not available here in the Great White North. I adapted Increte's Thincrete by adding some portland and bonding resin. It worked well too, but also a bit pricey with the shipping. I can get it from Ontario and the shipping has been the same cost as the material. The Tommy Rock company was really good to respond to my inquiry, but when I asked for a price on 200 sqft of material for a try out he didn't get back to me. I can only assume that it's because I didn't seem like a big enough fish to fry. Any suggestions?

I emailled another request for a price for 200-250sqft of their material at Tommy Rock. I should get a reply by tomorrow if one is coming...I would think. I sent it immediatly after my other post on this topic. I'm still hopin' for suggestions for other stuff.

Don't know if they have a distributor in your area but you can always call them and ask. Or if you know a company that is looking to distribute for you. You being there first customer. It would be a plus for you.

I got delayed and didn't get to make that call, but I will. The Tommy Rock guy left a voicemail so I will return his call also. I priced this job according to my costs with my ols material and my market will not bear any more. I charge(d) $15.00/sqft for vertical stamped overlays. Sound about right?

Yep! It's pretty much that XSCash. I can't seem to get the Super Krete material from a Canadian distributor and I called the Tommy Rock guy back and left him a message. Phone tag is not one of my favorite games. It was getting down to the wire for getting that job done so I concocted my own recipe with materials available locally. It worked!! The homeowners are literally thrilled...I think the lady of the house was gonna cry. Imagine. It's not sealed yet but I'll try to post pics if anyone's interested.

Anything's worth a shot Alex, thanx. I'm still curious about that PeneKrete product that you talked about before. This mix that I concocted seems to have worked quite well. The street that we were working on is very busy and apparently our work has been noticed and created quite a buzz. It's not even totally finished yet. There are many old sandstone buildings in that area so folks know what the real deal looks like and that's what they think we did...a stacked sandstone wall. Perfect!! That's what we were goin' for.

Very impressive. I haven't forgot to check on that Super-Krete distributor. I asked my rep the other day and he told me but I was driving and didn't write it down, told him I would call again to get all the info. Great job on wall, did you make the top ledge to or is that real stone? I want to say you made it because the corner is rounded and one piece but you Canadians might have strange stones up there, who knows? I know you made the wall because you told me but it is done so well I would not have known plus I still don't know if you did the top. I stained some tops like that for a guy and they look identical color and all. We stained them with Mocha for a custom home.

Thanx Alex. Those are the very rare and sought after Canadian Roundstones. They are found only in the areas connected to the Northumberland Strait and are caused by the ebb and flow of strong tides in small coves....aaahhhh, that's all bunk! We made 'em outta 'crete usin' that split face edge form.
