Thanx...the capstones were made here in our shop using the 2" split face edge form. For the actual wall we concocted our own overlay material...did a scratch coat directly onto the block wall...then our face coat. I let the 2nd coat set up a little and carved the shapes for that particular pattern. Then I use a dampened paint brush to apply a couple of different color hardeners. That gives some color, the sandstone texture and hardens the overlay. I did very little staining on that one...they liked it just as it was (is). I sprayed 2 coats of solvent sealer to finish. I really enjoy that kind of thing and the comments have been very positive. Not very difficult and not a bad money maker.
