WOW! I just was over on the EAC site to check if their board was back up...NOPE!! It's even been removed from the drop down menu!! What the heck happened? That thing was loaded with good info and good people. I wish that I had a way to contact them and maybe get them on here with us. That was quite a shock to see that gone.

I just got some unconfirmed news today regarding the EAC site. I am told that they are restructuring their site and that it will all be back soon. I guess we'll have to wait to find out. Some advance notice would have been appreciated, though...but who am I to want that?

I just got another "unconfirmed" report regarding EAC today. It has been said that our old pal "D" is still sick and her replacement is working hard to fill her dainty yet huge shoes. Let's all hope that "D" isn't too seriously sick and gets back to doin' what she does.

I've bounced in at EAC a few more times. I can see that some things have changed, but still no messageboard. Sure hope "D" is feeling better. Anybody talk to her or anyone else there?

I must of thought about this last night while I was asleep because if made me mad when I woke up. Alot of you people on the old forum were veterans in the High Definition Concrete World. I am not like many others the reason I got involved with EAC was the support system the forum gave me and it was a selling point at the Seminar. Well I feel like I was left out in the cold as I can only get help from EAC from their store hours. When the forum was up you guys were available pretty much someone 18 hours a day. That was taken from me when my biz was in the crucial point of development. With no explanation given we have been cut off from our lifeline. This might not be a big thing to you Vets but to a newbie starting out it sucks. I got better support from someone in the industry (24 hours/day 7 days a week) and an after hours phone number and I didn't buy her equipment or products. I have since bought her Diamond Shield Sealer and am impressed with her knowledge, product performance and support from the beginning. I would like to thank her and all who are here for being there to answer all questions for every body in the industry and you all do it for free.

I call her for advise too and maybe one day I'll get a customer that will ask for a PAP sealer. Meaning strong, durable, etc. I ditto to all you engravers, stainers and lovers of this unique art that we call High Definition Concrete. I just love this work. It can be stressful at times but that's just the work end of it. But I would'nt trade it for anything. Maybe down the road when I get older or just find a financial situation that just blows this away and I can make lots more money. Which I really don't see it happening anytime soon.

Eac got my shorts in a wad a long time ago. We paid quite a premium for anything we got there it is evident to anyone who even looks around a little, however good business would dictate better service and at least courtesy. I ordered a part for my 'cuda that broke near the end of a big job. It could not have been more than $15.00 anywhere else, it was $35.00 there and though it weighed no more than 4 or 5 oz freight was almost $60.00!
I purchased the cuda from them, told them when I purchased it and they sent me the wrong part for a different model cuda and expected me to pay the freight to return it and then pay it again to get it back!
Ingersol Rand makes a similiar product that appears to be the same thing for less than $200. That along with my cuda problem tells me they believe it to be their "right" to screw us. The jury is out on whether I will stay in this business, but I will whittle me a bill and pick crap with the chickens before I do anything with them that has any other alternative. By the way I took my cuda to a machine shop and they made me a new part for $20, and it works fine.

I bounced onto the site for the first time in a while...still no forum. When I tried to look in the galleries it refused me...said "fatal error"... At first I wasn't sure if they meant me or EAC but then decided it's either the site or my 'puter. Anyone else have that happen to them?...or is it my 'puter?...or is it that anti-Canadian plot rearin' it's ugly head again?

Don't believe it is "anti-Canadian" conspiracy ... unless it includes Texasan's such as me... since I just tried and got the same thing. I think the EAC board/Q&A Forum is a ship that has sunk and I don't believe that it will be raised to float again. On the other hand, if it indeed has something to do with Diedra's health, I hope and pray that is on the road to a full recovery... I really liked her humor, moderating, and professionalism. Since the EAC site went down I have had a gut feeling ...not really based on any facts that can be verified, just grapevine gossip I heard... that there was too much sharing of information that could be perceived by EAC to be detrimental to some of their supplier/marketing goals. That is exactly my suspicion for the shut down of the forum. Although for the most part we kept in mind the fact that it was a supplier sponsored board and respected that I can understand their position. It is still quite a loss nonetheless. I hope that the health issue thing about "D" is wrong or at least, as Lindy said, on the road to a full recovery. I miss my buddy "D"....and others too.

Me too, I think it was a combination of the both and it was just a perfect timing, if you will, to do it. I have a supplier that is here in San Diego that sells the Smith Paint stains, so if I can't wait then I can drive 30 minutes to get my stains, but they don't have the full line that EAC has. I'll still get what I can f4rom EAC but if I have to I'll get it locally in a rush job.

I just used the Smith's Paint on a patio job, same stuff as Con Res different label same bottle close to the same price but they deliver in one to two days and they also have sample bottles at 4 ozs that will do small jobs with out a whole quart price.

I used Smith's paint Desert Sand for the patio and ran short so I mixed CR Beach sand same color no difference. I mixed them together and it all matched when i was done.
