I have a pressure washer like the one EAC uses, the pump is beginning to leak water not as a pressure driven spray but kinda a fast dripping. The bolts are all tight. Is this an indication that the pump is about to go? Has anyone had experience with a pump wearing out? What are the signs?

I don't know what pump brand you got as some of them you can buy rebuild kits. They consist of seals, bearings, impeller. Now a days it might be as cheap to buy a replacement pump. Try Northern Tool . com they have two brands of pumps cat and I can't remember the other one. Hope that helps, how many hours are on it?

Not too many hours, it still works ok was just wondering if this was a sign of trouble. Comet is the other replacement pump and I have no idea whic is better.

Sounds like a seal leak to me it will just get worse over time, run it till it goes. I have the comet pump on my washer, I could buy the same washer with a cat pump for $150 more but I elected not to. I would check into a rebuild kit and hope it runs the season. It by chance didn't freeze did it?

I don't think it ever froze, my trailer is heated in winter. Is enviro spec better than Northern tool, for Pres. washer stuff?

Leaking seals let you loose pressure. Eventually the seals will go & it will be a LOW pressure washer. Having had many pressure washer over the years I bet on honda gx engines with cat pumps. never had a cat go bad. Have one now that is about 8 years old with hundreds of hours. Redoing the seals is a pia and i would buy a new pump rather than repack the seals.

I've still got the original set up that I bought from EAC 4 years ago. Honda powered with an Eagle pump...so far so good.
