I hoping to "survive" 4th of July. We are in a drought here in Central Texas. Everything is VERY dried out. Personal burn bans are in effect ...we have piles of old hay & manure but we can't burn it at this time, but the city folk can shoot fire works off in the country.
We have almost 11 acres of dense cedar tree woods with small open areas of dry grass (due to NO rain and intense heat) in the country. The morons head to the country to shoot off their fireworks around here. Every year they start huge grass fires that can go through woods like ours and our neighbors so swiftly that they can take out houses, stables, etc. like ours before the volunteer fire department can get there to put them out. All becoming a great fear of mine this time of year.
I hope that ya'll have fun celebrating 4th of July ... maybe BBQing, maybe playing on the lake in your boat, then taking in your local/municipal fire works shows. We're going to do all these thing ... but I always get very nervous when it gets dark (and we are about 20 miles away in the city watching the big display), thinking about if someone is out shooting them off on our little country road that could burn us out if any land in the dry grass.

If you send me some rain, I'll send you some Texas "bottled sunshine," I'll even remove the UV rays to that it is not hazardous to ship ... or, maybe you don't want my hot, land scortching, sunshine either

Oh yeah I'll take all that I can get of that stuff. I hate winter so much that I encourage global warming.

I am having the opposite trouble of Lindy it has rained almost every day since the end of April. Last year it was real dry here, I hunted all summer for a place to fish and finally found some water full of bass and blue gill, we caught them by the ton. Couldn't eat a one of them though they were absolutely covered with ticks.

Well...... maybe I exagerrated a little but it was real dry.
I hope you get some rain and have no damage to your farm, it is scarry when a spark from carelessnes can do so much damage, I hope all goes well maybe now the fireworks are finished it will be ok.
