Here we can talk about anything we want. Probably non-work type stuff, or maybe a rant-n-vent when needed...that sort of stuff.
My limited knowledge in this 'puter stuff and messageboard runnin' tells me that we cannot post pictures here yet. I could be wrong...if so, let me know. I don't think it can be done on a free board like this. If we need to share pics, we can email them to each other. For those who do not want their email address shown you can PM it. Sound like it will work?

I did find the "Attachment" option within the board controls. Joe from Concrete Illusions explained how to do it pretty well in another thread. I'll find it and put the info here.
Pics need to be hosted by a site other than this board. A Photobucket account is the one I have. It's easy, free and unlimited. You just upload your pics from your 'puter into your Photobucket account. Then, if ya want to post a pic here...just copy the whole address shown under the pic in your Photobucket album...http and all is needed. Then, paste that in your message here. You'll hafta have Photobucket and this board open in seperate windows.
There...I think I got it all covered. It's the same deal if you want to use an "outside" avatar...only paste the http stuff in the avatar blank in your "modify profile" section.

If it's not the humidity it's raining! Not even real rain, just enough to wreck my day. I have one final coat of clear sealer for that pool job...MAN!! Is everyone else keeping busy? Anything new out there?

Thank you for droppin' in! It's great to see ya here. I didn't have any email addresses for my pals at the other board so it's a "pass the word" situation.
Lindy's email has produced a few new members in the last couple of days and it's good to see all of you. I hope that we can cultivate the same sort of support here as we had before. It sure helped me.

I got a little insight just the other day about the other board. It was something sudden and a surprise to EAC as well but as Deidre (computer geek) (I say that in a nice cute way) was the one running the show on the board, with her not being able to monitor and run the board, EAC had no choice but to pull the plug until she is healthy enough to come back. Just can't let it run amuck you know. The greatest concern right now is her safety and recovery. We have a new board now and when D comes back we'll have two boards. Let's keep her in our prayers.

Do you know what's wrong with her Alex? I heard that she was sick but they expected her back fairly quickly. It's been a little while now...does she have a serious illness? I'm asking out of concern, I like "D".

I hope she recovers soon , but I still don't understand why there was not a better message on the site to let the subscribers have some idea when or if it was ever going to be back. I used that to get info on how to handle job situations and was an important life line to my survival and it was gone with out a word. I guess I expected more professional courtesy then that.

Sorry to learn that the EConcrete board went down due to Diedre's health concerns. I thought it was rather odd that she did not ever return either of the 2 emails I had sent her after the board had been down about a week.
Have heard a great many different assumptions as to why the board seemed to vaporize into thin air; some felt it was related to too much discussion on tools of the trade other than those of EAC, while others thought there had been too much sharing of information between contractors in relation to decorative concrete materials and/or sealers that EAC did not distribute.
No news, is "no news," which leads to speculation ... if someone had simply let all of us know that the reason it was down was because the only moderator/computer geekess (I use the word geekess in a good/professional manner) there running it (Deidre) had become incapacitated. I pray she has a speedy recovery. IMO there should have been some sort of statement on EAC home page as to why the board was down and letting us all know about Deidre (after all, we all got to know each other and there and had become a friendly community sharing a common interest). When it comes to the ultimate in engraving tools EAC is #1 and the board had a great deal of unsurpassed insight into the use of them in creating works of art with concrete serving in the same way that an artist uses a canvas.

I believe it best for her to say or someone from EAC. This is a personal matter and I believe she'll be back, it's just a matter of time. It's NOT cancer or leukemia or anything like that. Yes , they should have let us know but, hey let's all get over it. We are back in communication and the loads of information we had to access will eventually be back. I, with you all, have the same feelings but in due time we can vent and let EAC know.

It sure is weird that it is just gone for now though, I had been on that thing for better than 3 years everyday. Kind of like having your favorite pub close.

We've been on a bit of a roll these last couple of weeks. The weather has been favorable and we're gettin' stuff done. Well, mostly the boys are gettin' stuff done. I tell 'em what to do and how to do it...sometimes I try to do some and sometimes I can. That's the way it is now I guess. We lost yesterday to rain and I don't like to work on Sundays but we have this walkway and doorstep job that's very important to an older lady so we worked today. Got it all prepped and got colors on half of it. Of course it's random flagstone. She's very happy and we'll make every effort to have her job done by the 23rd...weather permitting. We still haven't heard a sound from that huge municipal project but fingers are still crossed. How's everyone else doin'?

Am really glad to hear that you have kicked your own butt out the door and rejoined the world at large, in spite of your ongoing back pain problems that had you laid up in a hermit like state. I'm sure it is tuff to not get to physically involved, but your having moved on to take more of a supervisory roll (oversight) shows that you are really making progress in overcoming the hurtles and potholes that have plagued you since you injured your back.
Hope that the powers that be gear up and contact you in regards to undertaking that municipal project of a lifetime we have discussed in the past. Good luck.
Take are of yourself my friend. I hope that your back condition continues to improve, even if it is only by a few more steps a day.
Lindy
