Well...tomorrow we put the color to a job that we placed last year. We have had our troubles with this one. Some were my doing because of the incompetant goons I had working for me but some were because of the client. Anyway, we're ready for color. They asked for my input and recommendations and then ignored them...after going around and around a few times with the color issues and in the end I'm givin' 'em what they want. Yes, it's my rep but I think that I'm willing to risk it on this one. These folks are noted for being difficult. ...So hee-ere's the color selection...we're using H&C stains...brick soldier course border and stair risers will be "Victorian Warm Red". That's a very close match to the existing brick and roof shingles, so it's OK. The open field will be "Whitewashed Terracotta" which is no where near the existing siding color. I suggested "Aztec Sand" which is an exact match to the siding. I think that the field color has enough red in it that will be brought out by the border color that it will look like a Mary Kay car! I told 'em what I think...we'll see. Oh dear.

If that's what they want, you give it. Your job is to let them know and to let them know it is going to be stated in the contract. Any going back and fixing is extra charge.

Got the 1st coat down and I have to admit...it looks better than I expected. I really thought that the red border would draw the red out of the field color, but it really didn't. I have to admit that I was wrong.
