I think the one thing that we all have in common here is EAC. I know that some have different feelings about them than others too. So, please don't take this as bashing 'cause it's not meant to be. I just wanted to check on a few things with you folks. 1. Has everyone received copies of the Color Bible? I have not. I was told that I would be getting a dozen of them with my next order of ConRes...I've made a few orders and still no books. I emailled and spoke with Dale about this and everytime he tells me that he'll get them out to me. I got nuthin'. 2. As some of you may recall; I had a house fire and lost everything in it, including my EAC manuals. I called and offered to buy replacements but was told that they'd send out new copies free. The fire was Feb. 1, 2006 and I still haven't received them. I've emailled and called regarding this several times too, same response, no action. 3. When I went to Florida and took the training and bought the equipment I was told that I would get a free listing in the contractor locator. Cool! That seemed like a good thing. Policy changed and they wanted paid for the listings. Damn! Not cool. These are small things in one sense, but quite large and problematic in another. We have murmured about a lack of after service some of us have (or have not) received. I just wanna know if anyone else has experienced this sort of thing. Or should I take it personally? I'm not intending to insite a riot or anything, but these small things really tick me off. I am still glad that I bought my gear...it's great.

I think you should take it personally!! I think they just don't like Canadians!!! Just kidding. I can't say that I have had a bad experience yet, other than cutting off the board. I can understand your position and you have every right. All you can do is call and complain very loudly or get your message across very sternly. If this fails, keep waiting and hoping. Don't know what else to tell you.

Call complain loudly again, then place a large order for stains and supplies elsewhere. Dont sound like they value your business why should you value them? There are alot of quality products out there, and I appreciate brand loyalty, but broken promises really piss me off. Good Luck

You can always hope they will send them to you for Christmas ... maybe there is still hope for Christmas in July!
You should send them a Fax, laying out the FACTS, in big BOLD BLACK PRINT. I love to use Fax's when I am really upset that an ONGOING ISSUE had NOT BEEN RESOLVED since it is sort of like an open public letter that anyone and everyone in an office sees. Fax's can sometimes air out the dirty laundry and get ACTION in cases where you requests have been IGNORED. Putting my requests on a back burner, when I have been more than patient, really burns me up and is something I will not tolerate.
It is IRRELEVANT how much is spent with any company (be it $100 or $10,000), everyone deserves the common courtesy of having their requests handled in a prompt/efficient professional business manner. If a company can't do so, they can "go to Heaven, then take a sharp U-Turn, ending up where they belong." There is only one GOD, and he is not sitting in the CEO chair at any company.

Good ideas and points all. I have heard that ConRes is truly Smith's in a different label. Is this possible? If it's as good I think I'll be doing my WRC purchasing there. I bend over backwards to service my customers and warrenty products over which I've had no control in manufacturing...I expect service as well. Quite honestly as I can replace EAC as a supplier on every level I will. I still stand by my original purchase there and am satisfied with the performance of the gear but I am very unhappy with the service I have (or have not) received.

As far as i can tell con res and Smiths are the same, same bottle, different label different price, and name.
Fawn= chestnut, Desert Sand= Beach sand, Amber = Brown Cedar, Mars red = fIRE BRICK .
I have used the above interchangeably and even used both on the same job. Looks, smells, behaves, and tastes the same. It is easy enough to check.
At Smiths site there is some dynamite info on using their stain I have not seen anywhere else. It is worth checking out.

I will be checking it out. Maybe Alex is "Wright" and they don't like Canadians. Hmmmm. I'm surely not one of their biggest customers but including my initial purchase of gear it has been in the 10's of thousands of dollars. Service like this certainly will not make me a bigger customer. Geez, a $500.00 doorstep and I'm servicing the Hell outta my customer...I even clean the glass on the door when I'm done.

Figures, only a guy from Kentucky would TASTE the stain. What color, I wonder. Whenever the doctors pop you open there in for a dazzling stained inside surprise. Hopefully you drank lots of water afterwards that way you'll get those nice colors that Tenya puts down. Anyhow thanks for your tests and info. Please don't compare any acid stains!!!

It was mostly, dark chocolate, honey, and orange... great over ice cream. Some pecan would have been nice. Hillbillys know whats good to make us strong of arm and hairy of chest. Of course it makes our ladies long of leg and curvy as a mountain logging road.

It is my opinion that eac has honed it's approach to selling newbies. For the same reason that they removed the forum - it's easier for them to sell people that don't yet know the business than to service and respect people that have already bought. This opinion and insight is derived from observing their operation. If past experience is any indicator, I believe that they have reached their zenith and will now mature, decline and eventually be sold off.

Yessir, I've had the very same thought. It's disappointing but we each run our businesses as we see fit I guess. Their silence regarding the forum only adds to their "guilty" appearance.
Those long-legged curvy wimmin are my favorite, by the way. ;D
