Time for me to whine some more. Scheduling can sometimes be challenging enough without adding another contractor to the equation. When I first started this biz I was approached by one of the established concrete placing contractors about having a referral relationship. Of course I carefully went ahead with that...it lasted no time. He burned me. Ever since I've steered clear of subbing work or recommending anyone...until now. I need some ground work done to prep for a placing job of ours and have subbed a young fella to do it. He's a nice guy who I kinda know, just starting out...I figured what the Hell? I know it's not his fault but he's not getting stuff done as quickly as I had hoped. I'll bear with him to a certain point but will have to cut him loose if he can't fulfill what I need. Aaaahhhh....I feel better. Got that off my chest. ;D

Talk to your local concrete truck drivers. Sometimes they build good relationships with small contractors or with individuals that are finishers that you can hire for a daily wage.

That's a good idea Alex, but this is a small area and I know of everyone who's doing anything with concrete here. The young fella I subbed on this job is only doing the groundwork. We'll place and finish the crete. I'd rather not do it, but there's only one guy here that I would consider bringing in to place and finish and he's getting out of the biz. Looks like I'm kinda stuck doin' it.
