Hi again! When I got into this biz I did the same as most other folks and went to work on my own 'crete. I placed a 15' x 36' patio, RAC stained it and engraved it into random flagstone. Well lots of folks say that they really like it, but in my opinion, the engrving was never completed...never had the weather and the time. It's one of those "shoemaker's kids go barefoot" situations I guess. Also, I have never been quite satisfied with the colors. As I said it's RAC stain and folks kept interruptin' me as I worked...they were interested in the process. Anyway it's significantly darker than I had planned and I'm considering a redo. I've considered an acid bath to lighten it, followed by touch ups and finish the engraving. I've been thinkin' about a total cover up with H&C, touch ups and finish the engraving. I do not want to grind or overlay...any suggestions?

How about doing a "wash coat" of ConRes? A color with an 8 to 1 mix. This will lighten it and give you the shade of color your looking for.

You definitely don't want to kick it around!! It goes on best if sprayed with a pump sprayer or gravity feed sprayer. Kicking it around will look....well....... kicked around. Ha!
