Hi guys! So I bought this old lawn tractor from a friend...he doesn't need it at his new place and there's no walk behind for me anymore with this back. Anyway, the old thing works like a charm, but looks like crap. My son and I wanna paint 'er up and shine the chrome. Yeah, it's got real chrome headlight trim and hubcaps! All 4 are there too!! Cooool. So what am I asking? ...does anybody know of a universal bagger attachment that works well and fits all? This rig is old and I can't find factory attachments.

Necessity is the mother of "invention" ... or "modification" of what you can get our hands on to work with your riding mower.
Personally I'm just happy that our Craftsman one continues to run and do the job (certain areas we mow with it are sort of rough since we seem to grow rocks, don't know where they all come from, but the have always erupted like volcanos out of the ground). We rarely, if ever, wash it and it doesn't have any (chrome) ... but, the paint is good, seat is nice and cushionly, have one of those attachable awning that shades you when mowing, and it never fails to crack up and run.

Yes, I've had magical yards like that. They seemed to grow rocks and stones This old rig is tough and dependable, but Josh (son) and I figure we'll take it to the next level. We'll shine 'er all up and maybe earn our "Redneck Badge".

Super-Krete overlay materials stick to metal. The pirate ship in Pirates of Carribean was a metal ship covered with Super-krete overlay and was made to look like a wood ship and sculpted heads and so on. You could design some crazy stuff on that old tractor. Plus it can be submerged and will withstand all that crazy rain you guys get. I know, crazy and far fetched but there it is.

I know a guy (we go back about 20 years) that lives/works in Las Cruces/New Mexico (Cliff Brown of Creative Stone) who about 10 years ago covered his ENTIRE truck (hood, sides, doors, tailgate, etc.) in a cementitious/modified overlay with unique/creative and standard patterns (brick, flagstone, tile, etc), rainbow of colors, name of his company, etc. The only part that ever cracked was the hood (but they were just hairline ones). I don't know how much weight the truck gained; however, it was a true attention getter (a rolling, attention getting, sample board).

That is too cool! I knew about the pirate ship and that's cool enough, but his own truck! The bonder/resin he uses is incredible. The roads must be better than ours too. I thought about doing something like that for a parade float once. Throughout the summer there's about 6 major parades in this county alone. It would be an eyecatcher for sure. Any volunteers to help me build it over the winter? Heh,heh.

Stripped the old mower down to bare metal on Saturday, painted it (2 colors) and pinstriped it today....shined up the chrome too. Heh,heh the old thing looks brand new. Any takers for the winter parade float project?

Sure, bring it on down to San Diego and I'll help you, otherwise forget it, too far away. Ha! Eventually down the road I' would like to get a second truck and old trucks were definitely out of the picture. Now they are in the picture and I would definitely consider doing what this guy did. No laughs here. You always have to keep rinsing your trowels when you use this stuff because if not it will stick to your trowel like no tomorrow. With Super-Krete's Bond-Kote you can feather it to nothing. My mind is turning now. This really opens my mind to old trucks.

It sure would be an attention getter. Great for parades and home shows but it would a heavy unit to use as a daily driver. I would think? What do you have for a work truck now?

2004 F-150 stepside bed with a lid on it. Gray in color. It's a very nice looking truck and pulling my 5 x 10 trailer, which I will not have much longer. I am looking to upgrade to a 7 x 10 eventually. I need to get some money saved. I need to get some jobs.

Sounds like a spiffy set up you've got Alex. I can't part with my old truck. It's a 1998 and I just love the thing. There's nothing special about it...it's just been good to me. Bring the float project to San Diego? Suuuuure! Sign me up, I'm movin' down!!
